2nd UK Microfluidics Conference

18 June 2025, Leeds, United Kingdom

Introduction
After several years, the 2nd UK Microfluidics Conference will bring together researchers from across the UK and Europe for a one-day forum dedicated to the latest advancements and real-world applications of microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip technology. This event will provide an ideal setting to explore recent progress in the field, covering diverse areas from microfabrication and fundamentals to bioanalytical chemistry, clinical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, materials science, cell and tissue analysis, genetic analysis, organ-on-a-chip, and more.

The 2025 conference is an important step in developing a UK network of microfluidics researchers, opening up new avenues for collaboration, research initiatives, and a shared understanding of the field’s scope across the UK. To foster community building, registration fees will be set at a level that encourages PhD students and early-career researchers (ECRs) to attend, offering opportunities to connect and exchange insights with fellow researchers.

Thematic sessions will feature keynote talks from leaders in microfluidics research, while poster presentations and exhibition spaces will promote discussion and engagement. A wine reception at the end of the day will allow for further discussions amongst delegates. For those arriving in Leeds the evening before the conference, we will hold a small informal gathering to allow delegates to meet.

Building on the success of the 1st UK Microfluidics for Analytical Chemistry Conference, held at the National Oceanography Centre in 2018, this year’s event marks the beginning of a regular series designed to strengthen connections across the UK microfluidics community.

We welcome you to join us in this collaborative endeavour, as we establish a network dedicated to advancing research and fostering partnerships in this rapidly evolving field.
