Catalyst for Change: Equity for Women in STEMM Discipline

11 February 2025 09:30-11:30, Ibadan, Nigeria

Introduction
This programme is to create awareness and sentisize women and girls for equity, career leverage, inclusive participation and retention in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM). It is targeted at women researchers, industrialist and those in academia. The purpose of the workshop is to enlighten women scientists on the importance of accelerating equity in science. We intend to call seasoned academicians in this field to come and deliver lectures on the importance of women and girls participation in STEMM.
As a woman, a mother, researcher, scientist etc, I also observed that career advancement and ultimately global impact is often a mirage or an achievement for most women. Women Scientists in particular face the dilemma of utilizing time productively to advance their research and careers while managing the peculiarities of being a female or woman in Science. This event will make us reach out to women scientists and girls in our community.
