The Å·ÃÀAV Organic Chemistry Community Midlands Regional Meeting 2025 will be held in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham on Thursday 24th April 2025. The meeting will showcase synthetic chemistry (organic, chemical biology, medicinal) from across the Midlands region.
The meeting is free to attend, but registration is required. To register, please click "Book Now" on the top right of this page.
The meeting will include a poster session, with entries encouraged from PhD students, postdocs and early career researchers. If you would like to present a poster, please submit a short abstract (1 page maximum including a graphical abstract). Prizes will be awarded for the best poster presentations.
Confirmed speakers include:
Prof. Matthew Powner (UCL), Å·ÃÀAV MSD Prize winner 2024
Dr Lewis Aitken (Sygnature Discovery) Discovery and Synthesis of Macrocyclic NLRP3 Inhibitors
Dr Lona Alkhalaf (University of Warwick) Structural basis for [1,3]-phosphate shift in bacterial hormone biosynthesis
Dr Andrei Antonchick (Nottingham Trent University) Development of Sustainable Catalytic Reactions
Prof. Liam Ball (University of Nottingham) New Strategies for the Arylation of Weak Nucleophiles
Dr Stephen Fielden (University of Birmingham) Systems Chemistry at the nanoscale: controlling behaviours of polymer nanoparticles
Dr Rebecca Ruscoe (Keele University)
with a detailed programme to follow.
We would like to thank our sponsors Asynt, Chromatography Direct, Dixon Science, Å·ÃÀAV East Midlands Section, Å·ÃÀAV Organic Chemistry Community, Sygnature Discovery and Teledyne for their support.
Visitor parking is available at the University of Nottingham Main Visitor Car Park - a seven minute walk from the conference location (charges apply).
