SciMed is pleased to announce its latest seminar “Environmental Monitoring using TOC/TN and AOX” which will take place in the SciMed Headquarters in Stockport on Wednesday 24th May 2023.
The knowledge transfer course will provide a comprehensive overview of environmental measurement and analysis of water using both established methods such as TOC/TN and innovative techniques like AOX. The course will cover theoretical concepts, sample preparation, method development, and validation aspects. It will include both theoretical and practical components.
What will I learn?
The fundamentals of TOC/TN and recent changes in AOX legislation for the waste industry, how they affect you, and how to comply. The different ways of measuring these parameters. New developments and methods. Maintenance recommendations, tips & tricks.Software advice and guidance. All aspects of TOC, TIC, TC, NPOC, POC and TNb will be covered including Theory, Sample Preparation, Calibration, Validation plus Method Development approaches for a range of Environmental, Pharmaceutical, Industrial and Research applications.
This theory and practical based training session is customised to suit both novice and experienced users.

Dr. Christian Koch, Application Specialist TOC and AOX Analytik Jena
Dr. Christian Koch is Application Specialist Chemical Analysis at Analytik Jena and expert for TOC and AOX analysis. He studied Chemistry in Jena, Germany, where he also did his PhD in Analytical Chemistry. In 2008 Christian joined a research group at University of Erlangen where he worked on light induced processes in coordination complexes. He joined Analytik Jena in 2009 as an Application Specialist for TOC and AOX.
Matt Allen - Product Manager from SciMed
Matt has been involved in the analytical industry for almost 25 years, and in that time has held several roles covering applications and training, as well as sales management and development. Matt joined SciMed in 2018 and focuses extensively on growing and supporting the Analytik Jena products in the UK and N. Ireland.
Dr. David Bellis, Application Support Specialist, SciMed
David has over 25 years’ experience in ICP-MS and other analytical techniques, working in academia, research, and industry. He joined SciMed in October 2020 specialising in Analytik Jena instrumentation.
