Introduction

The IRMM is the European Commision's Joint Research Centre responsible for storage, distribution and development of reference materials for emerging measurement needs in, e.g. clinical chemistry, GMO's, microbiology and for food contaminants. Presently, it offers over 760 different reference materials to laboratories around the world, allowing them to deliver accurate, harmonised and traceable results, helping implement EU legislation through accurate and reliable testing.
