10th Scottish Symposium on Environmental Analytical Chemistry

12 December 2018 10:00-18:00, Glasgow, United Kingdom

Introduction
This one day symposium is intended as a forum for early-career scientists involved in the development or application of chemical analysis in environmental studies to present their work and meet others in their field. More senior scientists are of course also welcome.

Invited speaker: Prof Richard Evershed, University of Bristol

Milking the residues: molecular and stable isotope signals from human prehistory

Richard Evershed is Professor of Biogeochemistry at the University of Bristol. Elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 2010 his research is highly interdisciplinary, applying the principles, techniques, and rigor of organic and analytical chemistry, to tackle questions in the fields of archaeological chemistry, biogeochemistry, and biomolecular palaeontology. All three fields are inextricably linked by his interests in the preservation, recycling, decay and transport processes, impacting on biological materials when they enter the geosphere. He has particular interests in investigating the origins of prehistoric agriculture and the impact of intensive farming on soil and water biogeochemistry.

Presentation
Those wishing to present should submit an abstract by Monday 12th November 2018 (Template available). Please indicate whether you prefer oral or poster presentation, but note that oral slots are limited and so we may have to make a selection.

Cost
Registration, which includes tea, coffee, lunch and refreshments at drinks reception/poster session, is free for registered postgraduate students who present their work and also for Å·ÃÀAV members. Other delegates will be charged a nominal fee of £30 to help cover costs. Registration deadline: Monday 26th November 2018.
