LC-MS Training: A Hands on Approach (Kenya)

18 - 22 September 2017, Nairobi, Kenya


Introduction
This new LC-MS course is an expansion of our on-going GC-MS training programme.  It will cover the practical aspects of liquid chromatography, method development, quantitative analysis and spectral interpretation of LC-MS.

The Pan Africa Chemistry Network was set up by the Å·ÃÀAV to advance the chemical sciences across Africa by building a self-sustaining science base. This expanded analytical skills training programme will up-skill and empower Africa and develop practical analytical skills to solve local challenges and contribute to global scientific knowledge.

This workshop is supported by GSK as part of our five-year partnership train more than 400 African scientists by 2020, as well as training local chemists to train others, leaving a lasting legacy.

Applications are invited; we welcome applications from researchers, technicians, MSc and PhD students in the chemical sciences from Universities and research institutions in Nairobi, Kenya. 
Places are limited to 10 delegates only. We will not be covering any travel or accommodation costs for delegates on this course, so only scientists based in Nairobi, Kenya are eligible to apply.

Selection Criteria

The participants will be selected based upon the agreed selection criteria:
  •  All participants should have a HND or BSc (or equivalent) in the chemical sciences
  • Delegates must be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • Applicants may be MSc students, PhD students, lecturers, researchers, professors or technical staff.
  • Demonstrable benefit to research or teaching in your home institution and the wider chemistry community
  • Strong relevance to the individuals current or planned research or teaching area
  • Potential impact upon the individuals experience and career prospects
  • Immediate application of the techniques learnt. Access to equipment in your home country will be considered
