The Southern Highlands Conference on Heterocyclic Chemistry
28 - 30 August 2016

Peppers Manor House, Moss Vale NSW
This annual, two full-day residential conference has become a feature of the heterocyclic calendar over the past 27 years. It has been held at one of a select few venues in the beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales, south-west of Sydney. In 2016 the meeting will be held at Peppers Manor House, Moss Vale. This picturesque, intimate country house resort exudes old world charm and offers fine food from its award-winning Katers restaurant. Apart from the familiar high standard of accommodation, food and conferencing facility, Peppers Manor House provides an ideal setting, with its landscaped gardens, New Look Affinity spa, outdoor tennis courts and swimming pool, and championship Mount Broughton Golf and Country Club, for lively scientific discussion and exchange. Adequate break time is also allowed in the programme to sample optional off-site excursions to nearby towns of Bowral, Berrima, and Robertson, and the famed Bradman Museum or spectacular Fitzroy Falls.
Conference Invited Speakers
The 2016 Conference President, Associate Professor David Lupton, is responsible for setting the scientific program, which will comprise eight invited speakers, including two senior postgraduate student presentations, each with an extensive period for discussion. Those who have accepted include:
• Professor Simon Blakey, (Emory University)
• Professor Stephen Clark (University of Glasgow)
In addition, there will be a poster session at which contributed papers will be individually presented and later discussed. Prizes will be awarded for the best student posters.
Expressions of Interest, Registration and Call for Papers
Your participation in this outstanding conference is invited this year. Together with the Conference President, we invite as many conference poster presentations as possible in any field of heterocyclic chemistry. The number of delegates will however be limited to 50, so please record your expression of interest and register early. Completed registration forms and payment must be received by 27 June 2016.
Nominations for 2 Senior Postgraduate Student Awards
Postgraduate supervisors and Heads of Departments are advised of the opportunity to nominate senior postgraduate students for the award of postgraduate scholarships, valued at half the registration cost. Applications close 13 June 2016. These awards are designed to encourage participation in the conference by outstanding scholars with academic ambitions.
I look forward to your participation in the 2016 Conference. Please complete the attached Registration Form (which also serves as a Tax Invoice) and watch the website < www.chemistry.unsw.edu.au/SHC16 > for more details.
