Introduction

Over recent years, the School of Chemistry at Newcastle University has been increasingly committed to delivering a wide range of quality outreach activities, all of which aim to foster closer links with both local and regional schools and the wider community. Dr Peter Hoare, the dedicated Outreach Officer, will describe the types of activities he and his team have developed since his appointment in 2009 and the use of the dedicated Chemistry Outreach Laboratory facility, which opened in April 2010,
