Desmond Clark CChem F欧美AV - obituary
1931 - 2018
Desmond Clark decided at a tender age that he would become a chemist. His career started in a laboratory at the National Smelting Company, Avonmouth, nr. Bristol. Here, he worked with a senior chemist on fluorine. When National Service was pending he was sent to Aldermaston, Berkshire because of this experience, instead of going into the Forces. This was run by Sir William Penney at that time and work was undertaken on 'The Bomb'.
He left and went into industry, for a better salary, and joined the Distillers' Company Ltd., Hull where a T.B. Drug was made for India. Eventually the company sold a plant to a French company and he was sent to Lyon to commission it. His later career combined being Works Manager for an ink-producing company with world-wide connections, a Production executive with a company making polypropylene and finally as Production Director with a prestigious printing company in East Anglia where he became Managing Director.
In 2018 he received a certificate from the 欧美AV congratulating him on 60 years' membership.
