Biochemistry of Iron Proteins

4 September 2017 13:00 - 5 September 2017 15:30, Norwich, United Kingdom

Introduction
The Inorganic Biochemistry Discussion Group (IBDG) is an Interest Group of the Å·ÃÀAV. Founded in 1975, IBDG brings together scientists from across the spectrum who are interested in the roles of the inorganic elements (principally, though not exclusively, metals) in life.

Following the re-launch of biennial IBDG standalone meetings in York in 2015, this year’s meeting will take place on September 4th-5th 2017 at the University of East Anglia (UEA).  UEA has rich tradition of association with the IBDG, and so it is a fitting venue for this year’s meeting.

The essential but toxic metal iron fulfils a multitude of functions in biology. The focus of the meeting is on biochemical/biophysical techniques that are being applied to uncover these functions.

Confirmed speakers at the meeting include:

Juan Fontecilla-Camps (IBS, Grenoble, France)
Steve Cramer (UC Davis, USA)
Annalisa Pastore (Crick Institute, UK)
Michael Johnson (University of Georgia, USA)
Po-Wah So (Kings College London, UK)
Paul Lindahl (Texas A&M University, USA)
