Low Carbons Cars: fiction, folly - or the future?

8 December 2014, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
In the UK more than three quarters of our oil is used in transport. The transport sector is on track to become the EU’s biggest source of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, according to the European Commission (assuming effective progress in decarbonising the electricity grid). A transformation in personal transportation will require investment on a massive scale. This day meeting examines the prospects and limitations of three major approaches. It will provide an expert overview of UK transport, based on system understanding and firm evidence, including perspectives of energy flow, innovation and transformative change.
