A Little Chemical Inspiration - Å·ÃÀAV Tayside Local Section Schools Christmas Lecture (St Andrews)

8 December 2014, St Andrews, United Kingdom

Introduction
The annual Schools Christmas lecture is being presented by Dr David Foley, who will be conducting a series of colourful, cold and occasionally explosive experiments.

What motivates chemists?

Is it the pursuit of answers to come of the fundamental challenges facing humanity, such as climate change, population growth an disease?

Or is it the fact that we can play with potassium, liquid nitrogen and hydrogen?

Dr David Foley from the University of Dundee will attempt to answer these questions (but probably won't be solving world hunger) through a series of colourful, cold and occasionally explosive demonstrations.

This is a schools event, which is strictly TICKET ONLY. Please contact Professor Douglas Philp for tickets.
