Originally designed to protect the US Army while developing biological weapons, Containment Level 3 laboratories are now used by scientists across the world to carry out all manner of research with dangerous pathogens in safe and secure facilities.
Containment Level 3 facilities are safe by design - built to a stringent set of criteria for fabric and air handling; safe by operation - by working to strict and secure procedures for entry, exit and decontamination; and are managed to be
safe by thorough maintenance and testing of these systems.
This symposium will provide delegates with knowledge of these requirements, an understanding of what might go wrong and of what to do to prevent this happening.
