As the oldest chemical society in the world, we were proud to celebrate our 175th anniversary during 2016.
We wanted to mark this milestone by recognising the rich heritage and community of which we're all a part and also acknowledge the important role we all play in contributing to the future of the chemical sciences.

175 minutes for chemistry #time4chem
We asked all of our members and supporters around the world to dedicate 175 minutes to chemistry, and to share your stories. From inspiring people through outreach and serving on our committees, to exploring what membership of the Å·ÃÀAV can do for them, there were many opportunities to take part.
We featured key 175 stories as a celebration of the time people give to the chemistry community. Following the success and the number of brilliant stories we received we are continuing to feautre stories and encourage people to spend #time4chem, creating our community news section.
175 faces of chemistry
We showcased the diversity of the chemical science community over the 175 weeks leading up to our anniversary through the stories of 175 inspirational individuals – our ''.
